CASE STUDY

Take a little trip to the wild, wild west

Project: CARIBOO CHILCOTIN COAST TOURISM WEBSITE AND MANAGEMENT TOOLS

Challenge

The Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Association represents a region just south of central BC, which prides itself on its blend of unique scenery, pioneer spirit, and Canadian hospitality. They wanted a website that would attract new visitors, entice repeat visits, and increase bookings with the region’s operators.

Solution

smashLAB encouraged the organization to embrace the region’s most identifiable characteristic: its unique “old-west” mythology. The region’s historic past and opportunities for adventure were fertile ground for the project, so the website was conceptualized as a “virtual campfire” where fascinating stories and legends could be shared with potential visitors.

Result

In the two months following the relaunch of landwithoutlimits.com, site traffic increased by 60%. Although it creates a highly visual impact, the site’s built in tools simplify internal management of its members, saving time and improving workflow. “Our website tells stories; it’s steeped in the history, culture and spirit of the region,” says Kim Burgoyne, CCCTA’s executive director.
